I should begin with an admittance that I use the word "Hate" indiscriminately. It's not often I use the word properly. The word "hate" will pop out of my mouth when the situation calls for a less aggressive word. Something like annoyed or...mildly irritated. I know this.
A quick Stroll over to Dictionary.com will land you here:
hate
verb, hat·ed, hat·ing, noun
–verb (used with object)
1. To dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest: to hate the enemy;to hate bigotry.
So with the above divulged, let me say again, with full knowledge of the meaning of the word, I HATE the Renal Transplant Program at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida. Never have I run into such incompetence and just general....inconsiderate unconcerned rude IDIOCY in my life. These people quite literally hold lives in their hands, and they just can't be bothered to give a damn. Now I am sure there are one or two good ones, but we haven't run across one yet. If we do stumble upon one, I will let you know immediately.
For a while, I thought it was just me, but in one of our pre transplant work ups, (which by the way still isn't completed despite being accepted in July 2010), I met a couple from New Jersey and upon sharing notes with them, was able to determine that the "we don't give a crap" attitude was not something special for us. They also don't care if wealthy people die waiting on them to do their damn job. While I am all for equality this is some serious bullpuckey. So in an effort to keep my head from exploding with the extreme level of pissed off I get, I am going to see about sharing their crap attitude and general "I don't give a damn" with the world wide internets.
Expect some voicemails to be posted. Maybe some of my call logs. Proof of the 40 or 50 calls it takes to get a nasty message back about how it's not their problem Jessie is dying, they have crap to do. Hopefully we still have the voicemail from her coordinator telling Jessie NOT to call her anymore because it's not her problem. Good stuff like that from the caring professionals at Jackson Memorial.
NO WAY we are the only ones.
If you or someone you love is getting the royal EFF YOU treatment from JMH, You aren't alone.
Stay tuned.
